A bit about bears!

When we saw Jack Hanna he did a bit about Bears, I thought it was so neat what he had to say, especially bc I worry about bears when we go camping and Hiking in the summer. He said first off if you are to be where bears are you need to carry bear spray at all times. Usually that will be enough to ward them off. He also said that the thought used to be that if you came across a bear you were to roll into a ball on the ground. Now they say to lay flat and to put your hands over your head. Also..he said that there has never been a bear attack in the US when they was 4 or more people together. And of course, never run from a bear, a bear can run the length of a football field in 10 seconds. And if you come across a bear and her cubs you are in trouble... Oh yeah 1 more cool fact, he said when bears are in hibernation for 3 months that is when they deliver their babies, WHEN THEY ARE ASLEEP! and the sweet little baby bear cubs stay right next to their mommas and nurse for 3 months until the momma bear wakes up:) Very very cool!
