Amazed!
I am just so proud of Thomas. Last night we went to something at St. Andrews in the Old Village. I was really worried that he might not stay in the nursery, having not been there since he was <6 months old..Well, would you believe that he just walked right in, said bye and was happy as a clam? I tell ya, this child who has been nursed past 2 years old and sleeps in our bed, sure is independent. Made me so proud!

A few thoughts..
Today was a good day, we went out to Target to run some errands and while we were there Thomas said some funny things:)
1. We were walking up to the store, West was in the sling, Thomas holding my hand and I was also chatting with Jodie on the phone. All the sudden Thomas stopped and would not budge... I hung up with Jodie and said, "Thomas please walk so we can cross the street" then he said " No me me, not cross the road, LOOK BOTH WAYS.." wow he really is listening...
2. Then we were in the shop and for the first time he was walking beside me ( has a history of running away and not listening..) so I would ask him "should we go get some paper towels?" and he would say " No, I don't think so me me..", no I don't think so? Where did that come from?
Last night he got our remote control for the fan and was using it like it was a telephone he put it up to his ear and said " Tommy, where are you? Ok, yes pwease get some chicken-fries, love you, bye.." sooo funny....
Also he has been saying " That's a great movie me me, or that's a great picture!"
This is such a fun age and trying at times, I just love how his little vocabulary is exploding:)
Oh yes I should probably tell you about my praise and worship session in the Chick fa lae bathroom today. Thomas was playing with Caroline in the play area and Jodie was holding West so I went to the potty in peace.. Well, the Chick fa lae on James Island plays Christian music so sure enough, I walked in and they were playing " Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord, wait upon the Lord, wait upon the Lord...." I just stood in there for a minute praising our Lord for all the blessings that we have, all the funny things Thomas had said today and for the strength to wait upon the Lord, really speaking to me these days...

Glass Shattering day...
So...I let the Dog in and went out to windex the back door, "No, stay inside Thomas its all wet out..." Somehow in the midst of all this the door accidentally got locked. I tried to get Thomas to unlock it somehow..he does not know how to lock and un lock doors yet.. tried the neighbors, nobody home, cell phone inside, no hide a key..I look back inside, West is screaming in the swing the dog is still running around and now Thomas has found a hammer to help get mommy back inside. So I did it, I took a shovel and bashed in the back bedroom window..glass everywhere, Thomas now scared bc of the loud noise etc.. I calmly come in through the window and close the door behind me, pick West up, nurse him, cuddle Thomas, put the dog up and call Tommy. I very calmly ask him to come home and clean up the glass and replace the window. Both of which he is doing now. I have a great husband!! So after one new window, one little cut on my hand and 2 sweet little boys who are napping we are fine...Thank you God for letting there be a shovel outside so that I could get back in..

This is my desire...oh Lord..this is my desire..
Words can not tell you the love that I have for this child..I think as a parent you get a little glimpse into the love that Jesus has for us..indescribable..On another note, West hates the car as much as Thomas did, cries and cries and screams, so very sad...I feel so helpless, unless we stop at a light or pull over which we do often I can not give him his pacci, which he does not love, so I talk to him, tell him how much I love him, how I am so sorry that he is sad and that as soon as we stop I will pull him out. Do ever thnk of Jesus like that, he sits by and watches us cry, mess up, all sorts of things and he is just waiting for us to stop so he can pull us out of our mess.. Poor West cried the whole way from Long Point Rd to our house yesterday, no stops on 526...anyway when I pulled him out his eyes were all glazed over, almost withdrawn from the stress of the ride home, just about broke my heart..one of the many reasons why I think the cry it out method is dangerous and unhealthy for children, ok another topic for another day...
Things I am thankful for in 2008
Last night in church I was thinking how thankful I am for all God did in 2007 and all the many blessings so far in 2008. Here are just a few;
1. Our very sweet addition baby West!
2. Our health and the health of our boys, family and friends.
3. My husband and our marriage, he works so hard for me to be able to stay home with Thomas and West. For us there is nothing more an important than me being home to raise our children.
4. For our church and our Godly friends. I ran into so many precious women of God last night. Women I do not get to see everyday but it was so nice to see them, worship with them, just be in their presence..you know what I mean when you meet people like this...
5. For having more than we need/want. Even though it does not always seem like enough or the bills may be late, we have more than so much of the rest of the world, and we truly are so rich in Jesus Christ!
6.For my mom, since she has retired I have gotten to spend so much more time with her, not using her for babysitting services like I would have thought I would have wanted to, but to just be with her, to spend time with her, no agendas, just watching the kids play and holding the baby. I love this women more than anything, she gave up so much to take AnnaBelle and I when we were little, another story for another day.
7.For new friends and old ones too. I was standing next to my dear friend, ( Jennie ) last night, so sad, she and her husband and sweet little one are moving away this summer but I just love her, she is one the most thoughtful people I know, really going to miss her. New friends, got to spend some time with the Kinney's the other night, special people, and of course all of the other people who are blessings in our lives, we love you all!
8.For Jesus, who always saves the day, is always with us, never leaves us, no matter what we do or how we goof..
9. For this weather, AMAZING, one of the prettiest days I can remember...
10. For all the good and bad that will come in 2008, we know that it will all from God, and all things work for those who believe in him.

Dexter
Dexter is one of Thomas' many cousins who has now come to stay with Mumsey. Well...Thomas and Dexter don't play too well together, at 11months apart, we here a lot of "Thats mine!" " He took my ake ( rake )" " Mumsey thats my ike ( bike ) " etc...we have loved having him here though and hope that he will be able to come again soon. Here are the boys today after Thomas' preschool playing on Mumseys back deck, quit possibly one of the prettiest days we have ever had!
Bringing him home!
Our dear friends Anne and Johnny are in the process of flying out Friday am to go and get their long awaited first little boy, Nicholas from Vietnam. This has been a long and emotional process for Anne and Johnny. We are so thrilled for them we don't even have words. Here is a copy of her prayer list for their trip, will you join with me as we stand together and pray for Johnny and Anne during this very special time!!
Here are some things we would love to have prayer for as we travel:
* God's protection over us
* Nicholas' adjustment and bonding
* Smooth process with all of the adoption stuff (meetings, paperwork, getting Nicholas' visa and passport)
* Our health during the trip
THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Happy Tuesday
Today Thomas and I were both a bit under the weather so after their nap we took a little stroll around the neighborhood in our new double stroller that we bought off of Martin and Sarah. The boys both really liked it! Also West is really getting more alert here is his laying on his over stimulation mat:)

Watch out American Bandstand!
Sarah and Martin gave Thomas this very cool Thomas the Train phone today, he likes to play the music and dance. He gets these dance moves from his dad!!
A fun weekend:)
We started out having the Kinney's over on Friday night. It was so good to get to spend some time with them. They are amazing people and parents. The boys all played so well together, we will have to have them over again!
Then Saturday we went to Kristen and Michael's house for a birthday/small group party, it was so much fun to see everyone and celebrate Kristen's bday. Little Seven could not be any sweeter and sooo cute!
Today after church we went out to Sarah and Martins house to exchange Christmas gifts and hang out together. We love love love Sarah and Martin and although we don't get to spend a ton of time with them we think the world of them and always pick right back up where we left off!
