2nd Annual Pumpkin Carving party

This is the 2nd year that we've had our friends and family over for an afternoon of fall fun! A little crazy this year because of Hurricane Sandy, we had to cancel Saturday and use our rain date of Sunday which in turn meant that some fun friends who couldn't come Sunday couldn't come but then others who couldn't come Saturday came Sunday. We missed who couldn't be here and were glad for those who could. Altogether probable 50-80 through out the day. When each family arrived we took their picture in the pumpkin patch and emailed it to them, labeled their pumpkin and directed them where to put their dish. All sorts of yummies, sweet treats, fall treats, pigs in a blanket, chips, fruit and more! Hot apple cider and smore's were had by all. The kids, well they just enjoyed being kids. Playing on the trampoline, playground, running around and carving pumpkins. We were also able to get some pumpkin seeds in the oven this year for everyone to have, so yummy! The weather was perfect and we were thrilled to have friends over to celebrate all things fall! Looking forward to next year already!
(Didn't take nearly as many pictures as I had hoped..I need many more hands!)

Biggest parenting scare thus far..

Hartley when the meds peaked..
And hopefully the last one of this nature! I have so many things I want to say, so many emotions that have just come to the surface after days of running on a cylinder you do during a crisis.. What I can say right now is that God is sovereign. What was meant for evil, danger, destruction, is now being used to proclaim is faithfulness! It is nothing short of a miracle that Hartley is still here with us and 100% fine. Although she did experience side effects they were minor to what they were afraid would happen. Our children are gifts from God and we were reminded Tuesday what  a gift Hartley is to us. We do not take her for granted and am eternally thankful that God protected her little mind and body..Thank you Jesus!

Starting to feel better after the peak of the meds, able to sit up and play.
Heading out for a wagon ride, taking a break from the monitors.
The MUSC atrium is so much fun!

Breakfast in bed, sweet girl got lots of attention.
The day we were discharged Hartley and West got to spend some time in the atrium at a fun camp they had created. What an amazing place for sick children and their families!
