Wow, what a weekend the Gotbeters have had. We are all exhausted but in a good way.. The fun started Friday am when Tommy and Thomas left for Buddy camp out at Camp St. Christopher. Buddy Camp is for graduates of K5, 1st and 2nd grade. The same sex parent attends with each child as they experience camp for a couple of summers before they are left alone. For a lot of reasons this is perfect situation for Thomas, not only has he NEVER, not even at my moms spent the night away but the trusting someone to feed him 100% gluten free is major challenge and something that while he is little we have to stay on top of. Thomas had a blast! Two of his friends from school, Hampton and Daniel were in his cabin, not to mention other friends including Eliza who he was in 4k with attends church with:) They had all sorts of fun, Daddy was in charge of the camera so not quit as many photos as normal but I am thankful for what we got. They went, Sailing, Kayaking, had a campfire, Archery, chapel, meals, swimming, they took a huge cast net out, drug it along the ocean floor and then examined what they caught and more! When Thomas got home he started to cry, when I ask him why he said he missed Hampton and Daniel. I remember coming home from camp and it is hard, kind of like vacation let down. Ever experienced that? Check out the Sea turtle tracks, aren't those neat?
Today all three children were Baptized at Church of the Good Shepherd. It's a long story how we got to this point but just let me say that Baptism is a blessing no matter if you are little and your parents are speaking for you or if you are older and are choosing for yourself. What a privilege to stand in front of the church and have our children marked as Christ's own forever. Our friends Krista and Brent Mchenry along with their six children stood as our "God family", our only request is that they pray for our children and pour into them when they can. We don't know many people whose walk is as solid as Krista and Brent's and we were blessed by all of them being there today with us! Between us we have 9 children 7.5 and under. To God be the Glory!
