All who are thirsty...

Last night in small group we watched a Pastor speak on the story of the Good Samaritan, you know the one, The Women at the Well. Although I had heard this story several times it really spoke to me last night. The women who had come to the well last night was thirsty for water but she was also thirsty for so much more. This women had been married five times and was currently living with a man who was not even her husband. When she came to the well that day and Jesus was there he offered her "living water" something to quench her thirst for ever. Even as believers we come to points in our life where we become thirsty again and we start to look away from Jesus and try to quench our thirst in other ways. For Tommy and I it is, one more contract, one more job, if we could just get that check, then we would be happy, or less stressed or more at peace. When that is not it at all! Only true quenching of our thirst comes from our Lord Jesus Christ. Theres a great worship song that has been is my head this morning and I don't know the name of it, " All who are thirsty, all who are weak, come to the fountain, dip your heart in the stream of life, the pain and the heartache..." OK so I cant remember all the words or the name but trust me, its a good one and the tune is stuck in my head!
