Thomas had his Peds GI appointment today. Overall it went very well, when we walked in they had a train table!! And then when we had to leave there they gave him Bob the Builder stickers, did someone call ahead and tell them what Thomas liked? The exam was not so pleasant so I wont go into details here, but the Dr was amazing, Dr. Palas, I am sure I am spelling that wrong. He is a very nice Indian Dr. He said that the test that Thomas had was 97% accurate but that he would still like to do a scope to be 100% accurate, he said that is the Gold standard, which I knew and that it was what he recommended. In order to do that he would have to go back on gluten until his symptoms appeared again and then we would test. This is something that Tommy and I are not comfortable with, and unless the Lord speaks to us otherwise we do not have plans to run that test. His reasoning was that this is a life long very very difficult way to live and that he wants to be sure that is what Thomas needs, 97% accurate is enough for us, we have seen a huge improvement and the behaviour changes were too much to even think about going through again. They want to see Thomas in October and we will meet with the Dietitian next Thursday.
Oh another note he said that of course Thomas can NEVER consume gluten again and that even if he did and it did not seem to bother him that it would be damaging his small intestine and that over time if continually eaten it would lead him to be more susceptible to a certain kind of cancer.
The rest of the family should consider getting tested especially Tommy as he is so much like Thomas and West when he is 2 or 3.
After we went to the Aquarium, it is way too hot already to do anything that does not include water!

Let us know whenever you want to hit the Village Green pool. We are right with ya about this hot weather. You are doing a great job (you and Tommy both) with Thomas's diet, etc. We'll keep praying for you all.
